How to be successful in life---On 1 Peter

To recognize, to submit, to stand and to love and rejoice. These are the basic elements of the recipe to success that I conclude from 1 Peter

First, to recognize means that to recognize the identity of God and his son and equally important, the identity of yourself. Who are you and what's your living purpose? In 1Peter 2:9 You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Second, to submit means "Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority,or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right." Besides, wives, submit to husband; the young, submissive to the elder; the elder, submissive to God and all be humble. (1 Peter 5:5 All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.")

Third, to stand means to stand firm through trial and suffering which is inevitable experience in growing.(1 Peter 3:17 It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 1Peter 5 :12 Stand fast in it.)

Most importantly, 1 Peter 4:13 rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
